Heat Pump Engineer

Location: Egham, North Surrey
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Salary: £38k & pension contributions matched up to 5%

Job Description

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about tackling the climate emergency to join an expanding renewable energy installation firm. This position is being created due to increasing demand for our services designing and delivering renewable energy solutions for householders and commercial clients.

We are a training organisation and currently have a number of renewables trainees and apprentices.  A key part of the role will be to instruct, coach and guide them in all aspects of the job.

Responsibilities and duties

  • Work as part of a team to install air and ground source heat pump systems into people’s homes.

  • Apply your expertise in domestic heating and plumbing systems to prepare and install unvented cylinders, pipework, and radiators.

  • Maintain a clean and respectful work environment at customers’ properties, ensuring the seamless execution of tasks.

The role is remote from the company’s office in Egham, Surrey. You will be based at customer sites for the duration of an installation.

What to bring

  • Proven background as a plumbing and heating engineer, including troubleshooting abilities.

  • Minimum NVQ level 2 (or equivalent experience) in the Plumbing and Heating pathway.

  • Familiarity with domestic hot and cold-water systems.

  • A love of teaching and learning and a passion to pass on your skills to a new generation of installers.

  • The ability to work independently and within a team.

  • Excellent customer-facing skills.

  • A full and clean driving licence.

Not essential, but it would be great if you had some of the below

  • WRAS Water Supply Regs

  • UHW10/HWSS Unvented DHW Storage Systems 

  • Gas safe certification

  • BPEC L3 or equivalent in heat pump installation
