Leah’s story
“My personal experience is one of becoming an accidental expert in the renewable’s installation business. Over the past 10 years, assisting with and then running my own firm has taught me more than any MBA or College course ever could.”
Our founder and director, Leah Robson, has been working in the renewable energy solutions sector for 10 years. After a career in IT, Leah wanted to do something that was more aligned with her personal values. Initially Leah worked for a company installing solar panels and heat pumps and this ignited her passion for helping people make the switch to low carbon heating. In 2018 Leah set up her own company Your Energy Your Way, which has grown into a successful female-led, Surrey-based business that installs bespoke renewable energy systems for homes and businesses across the Southeast.
Leah has featured on BBC news, BBC Radio 4, Fully Charged, numerous podcasts, and other social media outlets. She is also Co-Chair of Directors of MaidEnergy, a local renewable energy society created to support the growth of renewable, locally generated energy in Maidenhead, Windsor, Egham, Staines, and the surrounding area.

Richard’s story
Richard started working with Your Energy Your Way early in 2022 and helped to helped to scale and raise funding for the trainee scheme. Always keen to understand how things work and deliver renewable solutions that meet each customers own needs, Richard is our Solar, Battery and EV lead.

Richard has spent over 25 years working in tech, including directorships in world class organisations in Pharmaceutical and Construction Programme Management spheres. He spent the early part of his career working with start-ups in various sectors, including health, finance and technology. He has been a consultant in the renewable energy and life sciences sectors for 7 years and is a volunteer for the Bumble Bee Conservation Trust.

Richard has been involved with Solar PV projects since 2011, has been a Director of renewable energy Society ‘MaidEnergy’ since 2020 and became Co-Chair in 2021.
Richard has a keen interest in environmental issues, nature and consumer ethics.

Jessica’s story
Jessica spent most of her career working in IT first as a computer programmer and later as a Business Analyst. After taking a sabbatical and going traveling in 2015, she decided to leave the corporate world behind, making a complete career change and became a photographer. Jessica joined Your Energy Your Way towards the end of 2022 and has worked as a Customer Engagement Manager since then, dealing with customer enquiries and back-office work.
Jessica enjoys hiking, reading, travel, baking and nature. She started growing vegetables on a section of Leah’s allotment last year, ending up with a bumper crop of butternut squash and courgettes. Her chocolate courgette cake was a huge hit at home and in the office.

Kevin’s story
Kevin oversees all of our heating and cooling projects keeping a watchful eye on our experienced and trainee team members. He has a passion for excellence and is always striving for both efficiency and elegance in our installations.
Kevin left school at 16 and after a brief stint in telecoms decided a traditional trade was the way forward. Starting in a commercial plumbing environment throughout his level 3 NVQ training, he worked his way up to a supervisory role. Kevin then specialised in domestic heating and found renewables was a perfect blend of his commercial & domestic experience and hasn't looked back.
A keen interest in lower temperature heating meant heat pumps were a natural transition and kept Kevin on the right path. He has kept up to date with industry leading training from the likes of Kimbo Betty, Heat Engineer & Heat Geek as well as various manufacturer courses.
Since joining Your Energy Your Way he has also achieved F-GAS qualifications to give customers even more product options.

Kevin particularly enjoys mentoring the wonderful group of trainees and apprentices we have and believes imparting knowledge is more important than ever to achieve decarbonisation.
