Sigenergy battery storage: a practical guide to adding capacity with the Sigenergy BAT 10.0 Battery Add-On

Sigenergy battery storage gives homeowners a way to store electricity for use at a different time. For existing SigenStor owners, its modular design also creates the possibility of adding capacity as household needs change.
That is useful if your original system is still doing its job but no longer carries your home as far into the evening as you would like. It can also be relevant if a new tariff gives you the opportunity to charge more energy cheaply.
Before choosing another module, it helps to understand the parts of the system and what the product specifications actually tell you.
How the SigenStor system fits together
Think of the battery modules as the energy store, and the energy controller as the equipment that manages conversion and power flow within the system. The solar array, household electrical demand and grid connection all influence how that equipment operates.
SigenStor brings several functions together within an integrated platform. Optional equipment, including EV charging and backup components, depends on the installation.
Meet the Sigenergy BAT 10.0 Battery Add-On

The Sigenergy BAT 10.0 Battery Add-On is a battery module that forms part of the modular SigenStor system. It adds an energy store; the existing controller and overall design determine how that storage works with the rest of your installation.
The model name needs a little explanation. According to Sigenergy's battery datasheet, Sigenergy BAT 10.0 Battery Add-OnBAT has 9.04 kWh of total energy capacity and 8.76 kWh of usable capacity under the stated test conditions.
Product detail | BAT 10.0 specification |
Product type | SigenStor battery expansion module |
Total energy capacity | 9.04 kWh |
Usable energy capacity | 8.76 kWh |
Battery chemistry | Lithium iron phosphate, or LiFePO4 |
Protection rating | IP66 |
These are the published figures for this specific model. We will confirm the supplied unit and its applicable documentation in your quotation. Actual electricity delivered to appliances also depends on conversion losses, settings and operating conditions.
What does one additional module give you?
The Sigenergy BAT 10.0 Battery Add-On gives the system another 8.76 kWh of published usable storage capacity. That is the relevant addition when considering how much more energy the expanded installation could hold.
As a simple capacity illustration, a system containing two Sigenergy BAT 10.0 Battery Add-On modules has 17.52 kWh of published usable capacity. Adding a third takes that figure to 26.28 kWh. This is an arithmetic comparison of identical modules, rather than a recommendation for every household or a promise of delivered AC energy.
Your existing installation may use a different number or generation of modules. We will confirm its current capacity and show the revised total with the BAT 10.0 included, so the quotation is specific to the equipment you own.
A module that can build on your existing investment
One advantage of a modular system is being able to review capacity as your needs develop. You may have installed your original battery before adding electric heating, changing your household routine or moving to a different tariff.

Sigenergy describes SigenStor's modular design as supporting expansion and the combination of older and newer packs within supported arrangements. The BAT 10.0 can therefore be considered as an upgrade to an existing compatible system, with the exact configuration checked before purchase.
For an eligible installation, the addition can preserve the familiar SigenStor platform rather than requiring a completely separate battery system. You keep a coordinated arrangement for monitoring and control, with commissioning needed to recognise the extra module.
Compatibility is something we establish for your installation. It includes the controller, existing modules, current manufacturer guidance and available space. Being the same brand is a starting point, rather than confirmation that every combination is supported.
More room for the electricity you want to keep
An additional BAT 10.0 can give your home more flexibility in how it stores electricity.
For a solar household, it may provide space for daytime generation after the existing storage has filled. For a household on a suitable time-of-use tariff, it can provide room for more lower-cost grid electricity to use later. Across the year, the balance between those roles can change.
The add-on is the hardware that creates the additional storage opportunity. Your generation, tariff, demand and operating settings determine how that opportunity is used. We will relate the proposed module to your own system rather than applying a standard savings figure to every home.

What changes in the installation?
The Sigenergy BAT 10.0 Battery Add-On is an addition to the battery arrangement, so the design review starts with where and how your existing equipment is installed.
Adding a module changes the physical size and weight of the stack. We will check the supported arrangement, base or mounting, access and required clearances. The existing electrical design and any relevant network requirements also need to remain suitable for the proposed change.
We will confirm the work needed to add the module, the final usable-capacity figure and whether the upgrade changes the system's charging or output capability.
Extra stored energy can allow the system to supply demand for longer. A capacity addition does not automatically increase the controller's AC power rating. We will explain the result for your complete installation, so you understand what the extra module does.
Keeping the expanded system easy to understand
After installation, the new module needs to be commissioned and recognised by the system.
The mySigen app provides a familiar place to monitor the expanded installation, subject to its supported functions and configuration.

The handover should confirm the revised capacity, the agreed reserve and the relevant operating settings. If your system charges from the grid, its schedule should be appropriate for your tariff. If it stores solar, the strategy should account for available generation and household use.
We will also confirm whether any existing backup arrangement is affected. Adding a battery module increases storage; backup functionality still depends on the necessary equipment and electrical configuration being present.
YEYW's solar and battery support service provides a route to ongoing help with monitoring, app questions and remote diagnostics where access is available.
Manufacturer warranty and your upgrade paperwork
The Sigenergy European limited warranty dated 27 May 2025 lists ten years of limited product cover for the Sigenergy BAT 10.0 Battery Add-On. Performance cover has its own conditions, including an energy-throughput limit, and connectivity requirements apply.
We will identify the warranty applying to your supplied module and provide the relevant terms. Keep the new serial number, commissioning details and warranty information alongside the original installation records. The new module's cover does not restart the warranty on equipment already installed.
Ready to add more storage to your Sigenergy system?
We will review your existing installation, confirm the suitable module and explain what the upgrade involves. We will also check the available installation date.
With current availability, suitable upgrades could be installed in less than a week, subject to compatibility, stock and installation availability. If you have been considering more storage, it could be a practical improvement you make soon.
